'The World of Yaxin: Day of the Unicorn' with story and art by Manuel Arenas is a kind of visual poem about the birth of a unicorn.
In a series of lush illustrations, we follow a unicorn from the dawn of unicorns through to the birth of a new unicorn. A tiny faun and a fairy accompany the unicorn through blowing petals, flocks of birds and blowing leaves.
The verse that weaves through the book brings a good weight to the art and is really nice, but the illustrations are really why I liked this book.
