'We Adopted a Baby Chick' with words and pictures by Lori Joy Smith is the story of a family who adopts a baby chick.

Albert the sheep was previously adopted by the family. Imagine his jealousy when they now adopt a baby chick who is smaller, fluffier and cuter than he is. Is Albert still even needed?

This is a sequel, but I don't know that you need to read that one, but this book is so cute, you will probably want to. The lessons in sibling rivalry are obvious, but taught gently. The illustrations are simple but easy for young readers to follow.
