review:
'Beyond The Breach Vol. 1' by Ed Brisson with art by Damian Couciero is a graphic novel about probably the weirdest road trip ever.
Vanessa is going through a rough patch after losing her mother and finding out her boyfriend is cheating with her sister, so she decides a road trip is in order. When her journey is interrupted by strange monsters from other dimensions, she finds herself caring for a young boy named Dougie and an other-worldly cat named Kai. There is also a stranger riding a gigantic tortoise that seems to have a better handle on what is happening. Survival is better with more, but it may not be possible in this weird world.
It's a fast read with lots of violence, which is fine, but it left me with lots of questions. I suppose that's for the next volume. The art is good and creature designs are pretty horrific.
I received a review copy of this graphic novel from Diamond Book Distributors, Aftershock Comics, and NetGalley. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.
