review:
“The Man Who Shot Chris Kyle: an American legend“ by Fabien Nury with art by Brüno is a graphic novel that explores the true story around the killing of Chris Kyle, American sniper,

Told him a documentary style composed of news stories, autobiography and other relevant things, this tells the story of Chris Kyle from the rise of his legend to his violent murder. Learn more about the killer as well as the making of the movie and the rise to success of Tara Kyle, Chris Kyle’s widow.

I liked the art style, as well as the documentary style of this graphic novel. It deals with some tough truths, but I think it does it fairly.

review:
'Asterix Omnibus #2: Asterix the Gladiator, Asterix and the Banquet, and Asterix and Cleopatra' by Rene Goscinny with art by Albert Uderzo is another volume collecting three classic Asterix stories.

My review copy only included the middle story, Asterix and the Banquet. The Roman army decides the only way to contain Asterix and his village is to create a wall. Asterix and Obelix take a bet that they can't escape and bring food back from all the different towns around them. What follows are typical hijinks as they evade the silly Romans.

These stories are a lot of fun, and even though I only read the middle story, I'm certain the other two are just as fun. I read Asterix and Cleopatra some time back, so I know this. This would be a fun way to introduce young readers to this great series.

I received a review copy of this graphic novel from Papercutz and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

review:
'Vincent, Book 3: How To Be Happy' with story and heart by Vitor Cafaggi continues the story of lovelorn Vincent, and his search for true love.

The problem Vincent has is he doesn’t know when to quit when he pursues an old love and she ghosts him more than once. He misses out on an RPG session with his buddies, but worse than that, he’s really hurt. When Vincent meets a new girl, will it be love or another lesson to be learned?

This has been a fun and whimsical series with some really interesting things to say about falling in love. The art style anthropomorphizes animals as the main characters and it’s really charming.

review:
'David Hockney' by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vergara, with illustrations by Anna Alvaro, is an e-book in the Little People big dream series about a British artist.

Little David loved to draw and look at the world in his own unique way. He wanted to go to art school, which wasn’t a popular decision with his family. He painted fantastic landscapes, including one made up of 50 canvases and still creating art today!

I love this series and the inspirational people that it features. The art styles are also unique and different.

review:
'The Fox & Little Tanuki, Volume Two' with story and art by Mi Tagawa, is the second manga edition in the series about a fox charged with training a tiny tanuki spirit.

Manpachi, the tanuki, has gone missing, thanks to trickery by a deceptive badger named Momoji. Manpachi is deceived to think that his birth family who rejected him at birth, wants him back. Senzhou is stuck trying to find him, which doesn’t please the fox at all.

The story was still good this time and a little less confusing when the character/transformations happened. I continue to like the art,

review:
'Redline' by Neal Holman with art by Clay McCormack and Kelly Fitzpatrick is a graphic novel about an out of control soldier investigating a crime on Mars.

Denton Coyle is a soldier on Mars just trying to get by. Then a bomb goes off in a crowd and Denton and his guys start investigating. They don't have very clean hands, and their methods are a bit unorthodox. Before long, Denton realizes that the bomb is linked to something in the past.

I almost gave up reading this, and perhaps I should have. It's over the top, kind of gross and the main characters are kind of unlikeable. Maybe I'm just tired of this kind of cynical story. The art is passable, the story feels like it doesn't really care.

I received a review copy of this graphic novel from Oni Press and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.
