'The Way of the Househusband, Vol. 1' by Kousuke Oono with translation by Sheldon Drzka is a manga about an unusual man who is content to cook and clean.

This manga is the story of what happens when a feared ex-yakuza nicknamed The Immortal Dragon gives it all up to become a househusband. There are random people who want to kill him, and all he wants is to shop for bargains. There is the honorable sending out of the Roomba to clean. There are cute cookies and bento boxes to be made as well as the funny aprons he wears over his scary yakuza clothing.

I thought this manga was hilarious. The setups are great and everything feels like a really fresh take on the fish out of water comedy. The art is great too. I'd definitely love to read more in this series.

'Seafoam: A Friend for Madison' from Action Lab Entertainment is a series of short stories about a 9 year old girl and her strange friends on the beach.

In a series of 4 issues and individual stories, we meet Madison and her new friend Blue, and boy who is blue. Together with ta friendly crab, they battle and befriend a host of strange beings like a Hypnoctopus and dark Djinns. Blue also has a secret of his own.

The art and story here are really subpar. I like the concept, but there are things that just don't make sense. I can't imagine a young reader having an easy time of reading this one.

'Teddy' by Laurence Luckinbill with adaptation and art by Eryck Tait is a graphic novel about an aging US president who is looking back on his life.

Taking the premise of a 61 year old president Teddy Roosevelt giving a speech in 1918, this frames the story of the main character. From his close relationship to his father to the death of his first wife to his early days in politics. His platform was to strengthen the military, but at the time of this graphic novel, the navy has been weakened. Teddy has also received some more tragic personal news.

I couldn't find out if this speech was one that occurred, but it works well as a framing event for the story. The interior art is pretty good, using minimal colors and strong, simple lines. The cover doesn't do the inside justice.

The killer teams up with Mariano again in Volume 4, Unfair Competition. There are two stories that make up this volume, but they are tied together.

In the first story, the killer is sent to America to take out some corrupt people in the oil industry. He meets up with Freeman, an ex-CIA agent. In the second story, Mariano, Freeman and the killer find themselves in the oil business in Cuba. In order to cut through regulatory agencies, the killer's special talents are called on.

Along the way, there is plenty of commentary on the corrupt rich, or the complacent middle. It's another fine story in the series, and although I used the word a couple days ago in my review of The Killer Omnibus, it's very cinematic. The story by Matz is good and the art by Luc Jacamon is excellent with backgrounds teeming with details. I like this series.

'We Found a Monster' by Kirk Scroggs is a graphic novel in the form of a young monster fiend's notebook.

Casey loves monster movies, and now he's been finding them and hiding them in his house. A new girl at school named Zandra learns of Casey's obsession and tells him about a monster she found. Casey and Zandra become friends, but sometimes the monsters around us are hidden in plain sight.

This was a good read for younger readers. I liked the author's take on the Swamp Thing also, and this is a similar style. I like the journal style and the art.

Starting with an introduction to different types of lettering and tools to create those alphabets, the book is then a series of pages for the user to practice letters. That is about all the description that this book needs.

I read another book by Abbey Sy and I find her lettering styles have a nice flow and her alphabets are approachable. With enough practice, which this book provides room for, the user should show nice improvement in their technique.
